Hello friends! How the heck are ya? How were the holidays? Tell me all about it in comments, but make sure to go through this Argan Oil Sugar Scrub DIY post first! It involves your skin and something about making it feel all-kinds of amazing in a blink of an eye!
Damn it feels so good to be back! Even while I’m writing this (and it’s the weekend) I can’t wait til Wednesday comes to share it with you! I’ve really really missed you guys, and have something pretty special for you here, so head on bellow!
I’ve tried making my own scrubs, bath soaks, salts, face masks, and so on, several times in the past (here’s one). However, this Argan Oil Sugar Scrub DIY is the first skin-care diy project I’ve made that has shown such results almost instantly and had effects on my skin that lasted noticeably longer! I think I wasn’t exactly skeptical about implementing argan oil into my skin-care and its perks per say, but I wasn’t exactly expecting that much of it either. Oh my God! I was so blown away by how my skin felt so clean, fresh, silky soft, I wanted to cry. My sister actually asked (cause we tried it both at the same time) “Dude, are we high? Is this really happening?” Haha.
Argan Oil Sugar Scrub DIY.
*Note 1 // After a decent research, I’ve found this article that was really helpful. The article says that when making a scrub yourself, you should follow a simple 3-basic-components rule and build on from there: 1) exfoliant (like sugar, coffee, oatmeal, etc.); 2) liquid (olive oil, honey, coconut oil, etc), 3) Additional Natural Great-for-the-Skin products (like (essential) oils, herbs, etc). However, since rules are here so we can break them (am I a rebel or what?), I decided to skip the liquid part, and just mixed 2 of the basic ingredients. The reason for that is I was just curious to see argan oil in action, and I thought that maybe adding something else will interfere with that.
*Note 2 // In case you do wanna add the liquid part, you can try with coconut or olive oil. I tried it with coconut, it’s also great (although I don’t think that it had the same wowing effect on me as it did with just the sugar + argan, but that’s just me). In case you want to shave, then adding coconut to your scrub before the shaving takes part is a great idea. It will soften both the skin and the hairs, and the shaving will go much smoother.
1 Batch for 1 time only (face + body)
– 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
– 3-5 Drops Argan Oil
– 1 Teaspoon Coconut Oil, melted (*optional)
If you want to make some more & store it or want to make some as a gift to your girlfriend, mom, friend (pretty much anyone you’d wanna feel special), below is a larger batch
– 2 Cups Brown Sugar
– 3 Teaspoons Argan Oil
Put the sugar in a bowl & then add the argan oil (if you’re following the large batch recipe, go easy with the oil, add a teaspoon at a time, mix and then add another). Once you’re in the shower & your skin is wet, start massaging and exfoliating it with the scrub for several minutes. While the sugar makes sure to remove all the dead cells from the surface of your skin, argan oil moisturizes, regenerates and softens your skin, leaving it feeling clean, silky and dewy. You’re gonna start feeling the effects of it all even while you’re exfoliating.
