Make the best & easiest mother’s day gift diy in an instant. Believe you me, your mom will feel so special after using this mint sugar scrub! All the deets below!
We don’t celebrate mother’s day in our country (Macedonia for those of you that don’t know), however, we do make a big deal about Women’s Day. This is when we shower women & most importantly moms (each their own) with gifts, love, and attention, so we kinda make up for the lack of a special mother’s day. But, this year I thought it’d be great if Angela and I actually give our mom a little something special for Mother’s Day. It’s not just that she brought us into this world, she is the best mom we could possibly ask for (and I know that not all moms out there are good at that, so we’re immensely grateful for our), and deserves all the good stuff!
And given how in my opinion, the best gifts are homemade, we came up with this real simple, but pretty darn great mother’s day gift DIY that you can put together in no time, and it’s gonna make mom feel over-the-moon special. I’ve tried this, I’m telling you – it’s friggin’ the best.
Also, I’m interested, since we don’t celebrate this day in Macedonia… How are you usually spending it? Is there like a general tradition that most people follow, or do you have something special that you do with your mom to mark this day? Any awesome mother’s day gift diy ideas I should know about? Tell me all in comments, I’d really love to know?
Mother’s Day Gift DIY – Mint Sugar Scrub for the Face & Body.
– 3/4 Cup White Sugar
– 2 Tbsp Coconut Oil, Softened
– 1 Tsp Argan Oil
– 1/8 Cup Fresh Mint, chopped
– Jar or a Plastic Container
1. Put the white sugar in a bowl.
2. Soften the coconut oil and add it to the sugar. Mix it up.
3. Add the Argan Oil and mix it up again.
4. Wash the Fresh Mint Leaves thoroughly, chop them and sprinkle them on top of the sugar. Mix everything again & transfer into a jar or a container (I used plastic).
Also, if you have Mint Essential Oil you can put several drops too… Since I didn’t have one, and didn’t find one to buy either, I improvised with just the fresh mint, and I love how it turned out.
Now, let’s see, since I’ve tried this sugar scrub on both my face + body, what’s my takeaway from it & why I think Mom (mine, yours, you, any mom, anyone) will absolutely love it!
Over the last couple of years self-care, these beauty treatments included, have become much more important to me. I’ve tried to embrace new habits, routines, and rituals (I’m thinking about starting a series Routines & Rituals, but it’s still just an idea that needs a little work), ones that are positive and beneficial for myself. Since I’ve seen and experienced that taking good care of myself makes a hell of a difference in my mood, emotions, days, life, I love that (and am so thankful for) this blog can be a place I can share all of that good stuff with other people – you guys.
When it comes to skincare and beauty treatments, I’m all in when it’s natural and even more so homemade! I love making my own masks and scrubs and salts and trying them to see how they work (I have more of those stuff for you coming in the future). So, when something is working wonders, like this mint sugar scrub, as well as the argan oil scrub from a while ago, of course, I’m gonna share it with you.
So, other than this baby here being super easy to make in no time, it also made my skin feel dewy and silky smooth on the first try (so far, I’ve used this like 3 times in around 10 days). And, And! It stayed like that for a couple of days later (even without me putting cream, or lotions, or anything on my skin). And you should know that my skin is fairly dry, so… try it, let your mom try it, and come back here to share your thoughts and feels about it!
