Isn’t it strange how time seems to past oh, so fast? I feel like it was only yesterday when I got a call from my friend’s husband with an awesome, awesome news – my friend has given birth to two twin baby girls and all the 3 of them were all good. The very first babies in my close group of friends. The twins kinda announced that changes were coming, we were all growing up, all in front of different things to be excited and scared about at the same time. And, now, a year has passed since these two cute little heralds of change were born, and it is unbelievably amazing.
Anyhowz, my friends (these babies’ parents) and I are close enough to ask each other if there’s anything the other one needs/wants when a birthday comes, and since they’ve bought and/or gotten tons of clothes and toys (pretty much everything that babies need and more), I wanted to avoid giving them something they already have. I thought about it a lot, it was their very first birthday, pretty much a big deal, and I wanted it to be something special, but everything that I’ve came up with was already somewhere in their apartment, so my choices have ultimately been narrowed down to just money. And even though money–birthday-gift is, in my opinion, usually impersonal, and it’s often a lazy-person’s gift choice, this time was sort of inevitable, and not so bad ’cause my friends said that they were thinking about buying kids’ swing for the girls, so everything worked out great.
So, money, but how to wrap it? The local gift shops offer kinda limited choices, and this was a nice and meaningful occasion, and I wanted to make it as special as possible; when the actual gift is not that special, then at least let’s wrap it all nicely + my desire to own a cute little flowers, gifts & wrapping shop. The idea of money in a jar came to me when I went to an old friends’ wedding, and now I just upgraded it a little bit. Nothing complicated, easily done, you can see what I did through the photos below, you’ll figure it out, you smart. Feel free to use this idea should a money-gift occasion arises.
