I have this habit, some might call it stupid, unhealthy one, but let’s just say agree to disagree (on the stupid part) and call it just-not-the-most-awesome-habit of ‘em all. It’s about waking up in the morning, brushing & washing (all the hygiene related stuff), and then, coffee and cigarettes. On an empty stomach.
See, not stupid, just, not that awesome. All right, I’ll admit. It’s totally unhealthy. In order do to something about said not-awesome habit, I’ve started this Healthy – Schmealthy Breakfast thing. While still drinking my morning coffee. It’s all about balance, you know?
I’ve never been the type of person who can eat right after waking up, even before I’ve started doing cigarettes and coffee. Over the past few years, every once in a while I’ve been experiencing stomach pain, after which I’ve made some tests, only to find out that there’s nothing wrong with me or my stomach. The pain comes and goes, and it’s not that often, so nothing serious. But, still, it happens and it really hurts. So, I’ve started thinking what could be the cause of it. There has probably never been an easier question. Cigarettes and coffee. Especially on an empty stomach. Smort. Not.
Since it’s seriously delicious, not just healthy and stuff, I decided to share the How-To-s with you guys. And, as usual, I’ve done lots of photos of how it all goes and everything, so let’s do this.
Healthy – Schmealthy for One Person:
– 1 soup spoon of Flax Seed;
– 1 tea spoon of each of these: sesame, sunflower and pumpkin seeds;
– 1 tea spoon of each of these: hazelnut, almond, chickpea, peanuts and walnuts;
– 1 tea spoon of different types of dried food: here I’ve used dried cranberries, grapes and pineapple, but it’s also great with dried papaya, choke berries and so on.
– 1 soup spoon of honey;
– halfhot water (I’ve never tried, but I think it’ll go great with yogurt or something; feel free to comment additional ideas)
*Bonus: It’s all the better with fresh fruits, bananas, strawberries…
If you want to try and do this, I would suggest that you go and buy chopped nuts and seeds, it’s way easier. In case you’re little like me, then just use a blender, or a nut grinder (even better) to smash them into small pieces and pretend that there’s no easier way. In order to end with nice, kinda homogenized mixture, I used half a coffee cup of hot water. When that was all done, I added a soup spoon of honey and fresh banana pieces (I used half a banana for a portion), then mixed it and done.
*Bonus Tip: The dried fruits and walnuts are kinda sticky, which, as I’ve heard, can do harm do the blender/nut grinder, so I chopped them with a knife. Again, easier to buy them chopped and ready.
