This Strawberry + Raspberry Chia Jam is absolutely delicious, healthy and super simple to prepare at home! Head on below to see the how-to-s. Believe me, this takes, like, 10 minutes to prep!
Are you a big fan of jams or is it just me?
Before we get to the strawberry + raspberry chia jam recipe… I really love jam! Maybe because it reminds me of my childhood summer days by the sea… There’s this company Maribel that makes and sells (duh!) delicious jams, and I’ve only found them in Lidl so far. But, Lidl doesn’t exist in Macedonia, na-ah! So, the only times I’ve had this jam was when my sister and I were kids and we went vacationing in Greece during summer with our parents. We would get like a bunch of each jam (forest fruits, strawberries, and other types of berries…), and this would be our breakfast throughout the entire vacation (which usually lasted 10 days). Or maybe it’s simply because jam really is pretty dang delicious!
At the end of the day, the reason doesn’t matter, I simply love jam! Since I also love making things myself, I combined these two into a 10 minutes project (I obviously added my love towards “things that can be done in a blink of an eye” to my combination here), and so here I give you the strawberry + raspberry chia jam! I found some delicious-looking recipes on Pinterest (and where else), and so I made my own version of it. So, head on below for the recipe!
Also… Do you remember that episode of Friends when Monica needed a new plan to help her get over her man, and the opposite of a man is jam.?! I just wanted to be clear, this is not it! It’s just about the jam! Haha.
Homemade Strawberry + Raspberry Chia Jam.
– 1 1/2 Cups Strawberries + Raspberries (fresh or frozen, either way)
– 1/4 Cup Chia Seeds
– 3 Tbsp Honey (add more if you want it to be sweeter)
– 1/2 Lemon, squeezed
1. Put the berries + honey in a blender and squeeze the lemon. Mix them until they’re nicely blended.
If you’re using frozen berries, let them unfroze before using them.
2. Once you’re berries, honey and lemon are blended, add the chia seeds and then blend all of that again.
3. Transfer the strawberry + raspberry chia jam to a jar, and let it sit in the fridge for an hour or so, before trying it out.
You can keep this in the fridge for around 3-4 days.
