Celebrate the First Day of Summer with this awesome Frozen Rosé – the Cherry Frosé.
Summer’s parking the car and it’s at the doorstep, the question is how are you going to welcome it? I mean, it’s the hottest seasons of all, and it brings so much fun along, so it would be rude not to acknowledge the fact that it’s arrived. This was good enough of an excuse for me to indulge in something sweet’n’sour for the first day of summer. And this frosé here is just perfect for the “occasion” – it’s fairly simple to make, and extraordinarily refreshing. Head on below to see how to enjoy a hot, summer day with the Cherry Frosé.
Since it’s my first time making the Cheery Frosé, or Frosé in general, I got some help from this Frozen Rose Recipe.
– 1 Bottle of Rose
– 4 Cups Cheeries
– 1 1/2 Cups Sugar
– 1/2 Cup Raspberries
– Ice Cubes
1. Pour the wine into a bowl, or a pan, or ice cube tray and let it freeze for like 6-7 hours, or leave it to spend the night in the freezer. Since it’s alcohol it isn’t going to entirely, like, solidly freeze, some basic chemistry shit, you know.. that I read on the internet.
2. Wash the cherries, and put them aside.
3. Boil 1 cup of water with the sugar until it dissolves (5 minutes tops).
4. Put the cherries in the sugary water, and let them sit in it for around half an hour.
5. By using a sift, separate the cherries from the cherry syrup, and put the cherry syrup in the freezer for around 15 minutes.
6. Put the frozen rose, 100 ml (3 1/2 oz) of the syrup, 1 cup of ice cubes and the raspberries into a blender until everything is even. You can let this sit in the freezer for some time, then blend again, or you can serve immediately.
*Note: Your Frosé should have a thick consistency, and as you can see, on some of these photos, it’s a bit thinner, less frozen more liquid-y or whatnot… that’s cause it took some time to take these photos, and it’s a hot day…
I was talking with Rebecca the other day and she asked me if I was planning to have some days off from the blog, like an annual leave. And my answer was instantly and firmly no. She was like “what, the boss doesn’t let you have days off?”, we laughed and all… And, yes, “the boss” is me here, and it’s a creative profession and whatnot, it doesn’t tie me up to a place or whatever, it offers freedom, but not posting any content over a longer period of time just isn’t something that I would wanna do. I mean, sure, if I have content ready to go throughout my leave, sure I’ll one, but the blog will keep on working, you know?
But, then, lately I’ve been more stressed out, and under pressure, which is mostly by me (ha, the perks of being your own boss…). I’ve started feeling a lot like I’m losing my shit when it comes to the blog and what I have in mind about it, you know, my plans and everything… It seems that even though I’ve been trying to install a nice, efficient system which will help me stay on track, organized and finishing tasks, while still remembering to, like, actually enjoy stuff, I’m doing something wrong. And that something needs to be addressed before it’s too late, you know? Cause once you’ve start feeling frustrated with yourself and the progress you’re making, and it feels like you don’t know what you’re doing half of the time, it can lead to no good.
So, I realized that maybe it’s time for some days off, but meant for, like, re-organizing, re-inventing or like, getting back on track, I don’t know, re-charging. You get it. I’ve given this a lot of thought, and for the the sake of this blog, my sanity, and what you actually read here, I’ve made a decision to let Arty take some deep breaths, you know what I mean? And, I’m sure that you’ll meet this decision of mine with understanding and excitement, cause at the end of the day, you are at the receiving end of me working on elevating the value, the fun and the use of this blog’s content.
So, as of today, 21.06.2017 until 03.07.2017 Arty’s Getaway is on, well, its own Getaway, ‘kay? Again, I hope you’ll understand this decision. Meanwhile, you can follow me on Facebook and (especially) Instagram for some updates on how things are going. I’ll make sure to give you something to read, do, watch, eat, drink or whatnot while I’m on the leave, but there will be no new content on the blog while the getaway. And, I can promise you that when Arty’s Getaway returns from its getaway, it’ll return with all the more great things for you! Stay tuned on Social Media, and have a great first day of Summer!
I’m gonna go drink my Frose, wow what a start of both summer and the getaway! Cheers you guys. Until soon!
