Low-Key Fridays Entertainment // My go-to snack choice to go with friends-hangouts and/or movies – the Chocolate & Flips Snack Combo, accompanied by, of course, several movies to watch on Netflix.
I have quite the sweet tooth, when it comes to chocolate bars especially, and even more so when combined with something rather salty, like flips (Stobi Flips – personal favorite!). It’s the ultimate snacking combo for me. The only downside here is that it’s quite addictive in that I can eat a whole 100 gr chocolate bar with half a jumbo pack of flips in a blink of an eye, followed by “Sorry, bro, but you never stood a chance” meant for my sister, and then “you’re gonna regret this”, meant for myself.
Anyways, let’s just leave it at it’s an abso-fucking-lutely delicious snack, and one that perfectly saves your butt when you have some friends over for a low-key Friday Netflix night, but don’t have the time (or you’re just plain lazy) to prep something from scratch. Just about any dark chocolate + flips will do, but try to mix things up with offering different types of chocolate and different types of flips. And, of course, that you have enough for everyone. Head on below to see this low-key Friday’s movie-night list.
the Netflix Movies List.
1. V for Vendetta (2005)
Action, Drama, Thriller // 2 Hours 22 Minutes
I watched this movie for the first time several years ago, when Maria, Rebecca and myself spent a weekend in Rebecca’s country house. On our first night there, we were cozy-ing up on the couch, looking for something to watch on the TV, and so we came across this movie. But as soon as we started watching it (we caught it somewhat shortly after it’d started), both of them fell asleep. Since I don’t fall asleep with such an ease, it takes me a while, I started watching it and the story was so exciting and intriguing and so I watched it to the end. I was impressed by the intensity and sorrow and all these emotions Natalie Portman brought to her character. Not to mention the plot where this masked dude who goes by just V (take that, Cher) and fights for freedom, and encounters a strange young woman (Natalie) to help him with his endeavor.
the Funny Thing in the country-house Story // On our second night (sounds historic, like “the second night fell, and the King saw the horses getting tensed, like they sensed something was wrong, they were scared..”, right?), we caught the movie again, and we were joking how they fall asleep at the beginning of the movie again, and leave me to watch it by myself, for the second time in not even 24 hours. And that’s exactly what happened. Thankful it’s a great movie, so…
2. Crazy Stupid Love (2011)
Comedy, Drama, Romance
I’m pretty sure you’ve all seen this by now, but it’s just the right movie for several different modes and occasions. First, say you’ve had a tough work-week, it’s Friday and you just wanna relax a little by yourself. You know, watch something funny and easy, indulge in some snacks in your pajamas, before falling asleep. This is your movie. Second, you have a gall-pals night and while you wanna watch something together, you still wanna catch up with each other, and you can do that with this movie (cause like I’ve said, you’ve all probably seen it). And while I like my Ryan when he’s Reynolds, I understand how catching up with friends with this movie going on is only possible when it isn’t Gosling’s scene, right? Third, say you wanna chill… but then again, with the right person, every movie is chill movie, so..
3. Chris D’elia // Man on Fire (2017)
Stand-Up Comedy // 1 Hour 05 Minutes
I absolutely love this guy and his sense of humor. This time he’s here to remind us that no, we can’t do absolutely anything, no matter how hard we’ve put our minds to it (and his arguments are quite right), none of us is Denzel in our (separate) real lives, what’s love, celebrating birthdays with a party, the weirdest gift he received from his friend for his birthday (really weirdest, believe me), and much much more. So, for real laughs on your Low-Key Friday give the Man on Fire a shot.
And in case you intent to booze up your low-key Friday a little, here’s how to do that with this Grapefruit Gin.
