Oh, stop it, will you?
So, life turned out real hard for you.
Nothing went as expected.
Lots of plans didn’t work out.
You’ve got the world’s biggest problems.
Well, guess what?
Life does that.
It cannot always be rainbows and unicorns.
Sometimes life is black holes and evil space creatures.
But, that has to happen, so that later, you find a way to do something good with that.
Something like a pit with balls and funny…space creatures.
Look.
Life is not a song.
It’s not just, like that one song.
Life is songs.
Plural.
And, they are not all happy songs.
There are sad ones too.
There are these and you want to like really dance them off, sing and have real fun while doing that.
And, there are the ones that make you want to cry.
Like, really, lay down on your bed, hide beneath your blanket and just cry until your eyes are dry.
When I was a kid, my parents tell me, I used to dance like crazy especially on these like, slow songs with rather sorrowful lyrics.
And when they’d tell me that that’s not how you dance to a sad song, it’s a sad song for crying out loud, my answer had been “No, no, I dance to this other song I hear in my head”.
Sounds like I was a little crazy kiddo.
Oh, uh, let’s just… let’s not go in there.
And as I grew older, I started really listening to my songs, and yes, I don’t jump around on sad songs anymore.
I enjoy them rather differently.
And if I don’t feel like sad songs, I just hit the remote.
Yeah, I have the remote.
And then, I play whichever song I feel like.
Except when I run out of batteries.
That’s not good.
Because usually Murphy has his moment here, you know.
You don’t have batteries on the remote and then BAM! “How deep is your love?” is on.
But, it’s mostly great, this remote control thing.
You should try it.
Life is Songs.
