Pets, am I right? While they are a huge responsibility, require a lot of attention and patience, and often leave us with a ruined pillow, little (to no) sleep, or a missing sock, they still are our treasure. I’ve always loved dogs, and for a long time I’ve wished that I had one, until 08 of June, 2014, when Phoebe’s entered & instantly enriched our lives. It’s when we got her that I actually realized what owning a pet meant. All of a sudden, you have a new member in the family. To train, to feed, to raise, to walk, to love. It’s not just a pet, it’s your pal.
Given all that, it’s not strange at all that my Instagram feed is filled with kick-ass pets accounts. ‘Cause nothing gets me through the day as a cat jumping freaked out of a cucumber, a pug that walks on its front legs, or a raccoon just lying around not giving a crap about a thing. Apparently, pets are not just dogs and cats.
Below are my 7 favorite pets accounts on Instagram that are totally must-follow & must-pass-to-friends.

Loki sure looks a lot like a werewolf of Game of Thrones, don’t you think? He’s just majestic! But, what’s even more impressive here, is his owner’s attempts and devotion to not just inspire us to get out of our comfort zones, but he also inspires us to get our dogs along too.

These minilop bunnies are so fluffy I wanna die, right? Plus, Londoners. Can you imagine snuggling up to these two on a cold winter night?

Hedgehogs will always remind me of these awesome guys I met in Germany. We were 3 girls and 5 guys from Macedonia working in a hotel in Germany; we didn’t all know each other at first, but became like a family within the first 2 days. The guys used “hedgehog” as a nickname to each other. I miss those people & those times. So, maybe there is a note of sentimentality with Mr. Pokee here, but let’s be honest? Isn’t this one of the cutest little pets you’ve ever seen?

I know that raccoons can be kinda dangerous should you find them in your yard or your house, obviously because they’re scared and feeling trapped. However, this little guy here shows that they also make for a great pet. I just can’t have enough of the not-a-single-crap-was-given-that-day attitude that Pumpkin has. He’s just adorable.

I’m not the biggest cat-fan there is, everyone around me knows I’m a dog person. But, Simba’s just gorgeous. It’s like a leopard, but the kind that won’t feast on your being.

This is my personal favorite! And it’s not just about all the awesome photos of Buddha and Sienna and how cute they look together. I think that Sienna and Buddha’s mom has an incredible role in changing the way people see this particular breed. I mean, yeah, I know that dobermans look scary and everything, but that doesn’t make them dangerous. As she points out constantly, you have to collect all the knowledge on dobermans as a breed, you have to make a thorough research on the breeder, you can just go and buy a doberman without having prepped all nicely. The people who’ve raised Buddha are obviously using a lot of time and energy towards training their dog in the best possible way. Because, you know what they say? “They’re not dangerous if you raise them right. And neither are the dogs.”

I’m gonna be honest, I could never imagine owning a fox as a pet, or a raccoon for that matter, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t other people out there who wouldn’t totally get one.
