This & That // Previous Week’s Highlights // Some Weekends are Better than Others.
Was your weekend just better than others? Hope so…
This whole past week was awesome for several reasons. First, on Monday, my besties Maria & Danilo called me and invited me for a one-day-trip to Ikea (in Thessaloniki) the next day. It couldn’t be more awesome (actually it could, had I not be throwing out almost the entire way there, for reasons not quite known). They only had room for like 1 person in their car (there had to be some left for actually bringing back all the things from Ikea), so they invited me, and could I be more excited about that? And I’ve been wanting to go for like ever. Just before Maria called me, I was talking to Rebecca and telling her about how much I want to go (we don’t have an Ikea in our country, so…). And finally, probably the crucial part of my going, I had some money saved, so it all worked out pretty damn great.
I’m happy to say that I’ve bought some things that I really really needed. Like an actual office desk, which I’ve realized was an actual priority only when I installed it in my room. Things are much easier now. And other things which you’ll hear about soon.
The second reason why this past week rocked, is actually the weekend. I started Saturday with Mara & Lea in the pool. Afterwards, Angela, Martin, Maria & Danilo have joined us. There was this moment.. Maria sat in the pool, spread her arms wide, and had this look on her face… Angela saw her and totally hit the translation of Maria’s look with “The world is yours, Maci!” It was hilarious, cause she kinda did have that exact look.
We spend the latter part of Sunday with Mara, Bisera & Lea in the pool again. And this time, Lea started to actually relax and be much less afraid of the pool. She was so happy and more free, she even walked around by herself, of course, scanning the pool with her eyes to see which of our legs or arms comes closer to her so that she can grab a hold. Still, she started learning her way in the water and had so much fun, and that’s what matters.
I was so happy that I get to sit there, have an amazing time, even just watching my friends have an amazing time. Laughing, just sitting, talking about movies, music, ideas, laughing, just plain enjoying. I’m so thankful about the little reminder that spending time with the people close to you, having fun and everything, is priceless and that without that, nothing would actually make sense.
(Also, Phoebe entered the pool for the first time, and she did not love it – the scratches on my shoulders are the proof. I, on the other hand, didn’t love at all what happened after we got her out of it…)
