This and That // Previous Week’s Highlights.
How long has it been since you really, actually danced?
My friends and I used to chose when we’d go out mostly based on what was happening at our favorite places that night. If there was a certain band, or dj we liked/loved at some bar, then we’d made plans several days prior the actual event, so we can make sure that we’ll all be there together (and dance!). As a matter of fact, we still do that when we’re free to actually go out and have some fun, when our weekends are not fully packed with different duties and whatnot. This Saturday was one of those going-out-dancing, and it was just what I (and I think my friends too) needed.
This electronic band from Macedonia, called PMG Kolektiv (which is, without a doubt, one of the best bands we have here) was promoting their latest album at Kashmir. And the lead singer (who’s also a dj; they’re actually all involved in different projects, other than the band, and are contributing a lot to the Macedonian Music, and actually also the Cultural, scene; check them and their work here, where you can also download the album), used to have gigs at this bar called Wire (that unfortunately, got closed few years ago). We almost always went and we danced like crazy until closing time. So, when we learned that these guys are playing at Kashmir, it was simply a must. And it was the best, really. People were dancing, laughing, it was vibrant and so so fun. I think that we should all have at least one night a month saved exclusively for just dancing.
(My first morning coffee is all the more successful at waking me up when I have it with the cutest little rascals; this is one of them and, as you can see, she’s wearing her mama’s make up. Just on her left eye, she don’t care, she cool.)
I hope that your answer to that question above is “not at all that long ago”, ’cause not-dancing isn’t good for the hips, they say. And hips don’t lie. Have a kick-ass start of the week, you!
