the Prettiest Turquoise Necklace that my Insanely-Creative Mom made.
My mom has always been an admirer of the Eastern culture, tradition, philosophies, spirituality and so on. As we were growing up, she started showing her interests in Feng shui by adding “the right” piece of decor in “the right” place. Then she started buying some Feng-shui-approved decorative items. An elephant facing the doors, a crystal globe, and whatnot. But it was nothing exaggerated, it’s quite subtle actually. Later on, she’s kinda gotten into gem stones, and the meaning behind them. That lead to adopting a new from-time-to-time hobby – hand-made jewelry with gem stones. But, she kinda “fell in love” with it shortly after, and she started creating at least a few every day.
She’s made tons of wonderful pieces of jewelry, and lots of people have showed interest in her little artwork. This turquoise necklace is one of her latest pieces, and Angela and I loved it the instant we spotted it. My mom obviously gifted it to us, knowing how much we’ll enjoy wearing it. I love that it’s a pop of color, but in a very subtle way. It’s the cutest little detail to a white top, and I have several of those, + I can play with it by adding other necklace(es) with it. So, a big win, and a big thanks to our mom!
Also, big thanks to my gal-pal Rebecca who jumped in the car as soon as I called her to come and take this pictures of me! Saved the day, my ginger girl!
While I’m only showing you this turquoise necklace now, I do intent to share some more of my mom’s awesome hand-made jewelry in the future. But if you want to see some of her older stuff, you can always check that out here.
