DIY Geometric Paper Boxes // Organize your pencils and shit on your office desk with these minimalist paper pencil holders.
Over the last year or so, I’ve bought and received as gifts a shit load of pens, pencils, gel pens and whatnot. And sure, I need those, most of them (as much as a person can need a gazillion hand-writing tools), but man, a shit load. While I don’t exactly use all of them, like, every single day, I sure use them often enough to need many of them at hand. What in the ass did I just write? It feels a lot like what Bilbo Baggins said on the night of his 111 birthday, except what he said sounded smarter. Was, in fact, smarter. Anyways, with my old office desk, I had to keep my pencils and all of those in the desk drawer so that I can actually use the desk. Now that my new desk is bigger (or doesn’t come with a drawer), I can keep the things I use every day displayed in these & easy to grab. Head on below to see the tutorial.
DIY Geometric Paper Boxes.
– A4 Card Stock Paper (you’ll need 1 sheet for each box)
– Pencil and Eraser
Basically a lot of triangles and shit. Fun, tho. Also, since trying to explain the steps with words actually makes this seem, well, more complicated and less easy to follow (believe you me, I tried writing this shit down), I’ve made little collages for you & am pretty sure you’ll absolutely nail this. I’ll be honest, it did take me some time (more than an hour) to actually figure out how to make this geometric paper box on my own, but once I did, it was easy as fuck. So let’s do this!
Let’s start from the bottom of this box and build up.
The bottom of the box is an equilateral triangle (mine is 6 cm // 2.4 inches side)
Now, let’s do the sides of the box.
All in all 9 Isosceles Triangles (in my case – base 6 cm // 2.4 inches, and legs 13 cm // 5 inches).
Okay, so now let’s fold shit.
Yay, almost done. Now, gluing!
Also, the black never-ending triangles or whatever, on my white boxes, are hand-drawn, so if you love how they look, you can make them yourself in no time, it’s quite simple. You just start drawing a triangle and never stop until it looks like this (wow, am I explaining shit or what?)
